Killing Eve went more in-depth into what’s motivating Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) last night as the mystery of Kenny’s death is beginning to unravel. Carolyn also started her quest to reclaim her place in MI-5 in the midst of coming to terms with her son’s death. With that in mind, here are the top 5 takeaways from last night’s episode.
Could we be seeing the beginnings of Villanelle developing some sort of empathy? When she agreed to do this hit for Konstantin, Villanelle didn’t realize that it was Niko’s widow. In previous seasons, she would have just stabbed her with the garden sheers and walked away. She decides to provide her with some joy before ultimately strangling her with a garden hose. It seems twisted, but this truly is progress for her.
4. Never meet with Konstantin!
It seems anyone who meets with this man dies. He might as well be the grim reaper.
3. Fiona Shaw!!!
Fiona Shaw is having a great season and deserves an Emmy nomination along with Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
2. Losing it all!
It seems Eve is going to lose everything this season, and it looks that it will lead to her snapping. She desperately wants to have some semblance of normalcy in her life. Could it lead to her projecting blame towards her ex-girlfriend? Would she kill Villanelle?
1. Could this be the straw that breaks the camels back?
While I understand that Dasha wants to eliminate distractions for Villanelle, but Niko’s demise might come back to haunt them all. At this point, what does Eve have to lose?
