Run was much better this week than it was last week. While the 2nd episode made little sense to most people, the 3rd episode filled many holes and gave some connective tissue to the series. We finally understand why Billy is on the Run and that perhaps Ruby didn’t just start wanting to be with her college fling in recent days. Maybe the idea of running from their lives isn’t avoidance, but acceptance and how their lives off track? With that in mind, here are my five takeaways from this week’s episode.
5. The truth about Billy.
It seems Billy is a life coach, and he fell victim to seeing his bad advice impacting others. When he realizes that someone went off their meds and leads to the man committing suicide, he has a break, which leads him back to Ruby.
4. When it’s just these two –
When Billy and Ruby are on screen, the show clicks and so fun to watch. When they aren’t together on screen, the show falls apart. Luckily for us, these two were in most of the scenes together on Monday night.
3. Who is he talking to?
After all of this, you still want to talk to someone who isn’t your ex-girlfriend from college? This is just inviting trouble. It seems Run thrives on how much personal drama is unfolding.
2. Hello Trouble!
Everyone had a feeling there was more to this story than meets the eye.
1. The most authentic moment –
The most authentic moment on this episode was seeing Ruby realize how she had shattered her life and endangered ever seeing her kids just to be with Billy. Something tells me that running into her was no accident for Ruby.
What were your feelings about tonight’s episode of Run? Are you willing to stay with this series to its conclusion?
